Barricade and Crowd Control Rental Calculator

Barricades are quoted differently from fence: by the unit and by the day rather than by the foot and by the month. The math here starts from our $8–$15 per barricade per day rate, discounted on orders over 50 units, and adds $100–$500 to drop the units off and collect them.

Two honest notes. Large events get quoted from a site map, not from a dropdown, because the layout is what determines how many units you actually need and how long the load-in takes. And the load-in window matters as much as the count: a Saturday morning setup on a closed street is a different job from a Thursday drop in an empty lot.

How many do you need?

Standard steel crowd control barricades are roughly eight feet long. Divide the run you need to control by eight and round up, then add units for corners, gaps, and the places where people will try to walk through.

Common layouts:

  • A street closure: both ends, plus the sidewalk widths, plus anything mid-block that needs blocking.
  • A stage front or barrier line: the width of the front plus returns down each side.
  • A race course: the pinch points, the start and finish, and every intersection, rather than the whole route.
  • A beer garden or ticketed area: a full perimeter with controlled entry points.

Barricades or fence?

They solve different problems and events often need both.

Barricades are for people: guiding, separating, and controlling flow. They set up and move fast, they interlock, and they are what you want along a route or at a stage.

Fence panels are for security and sight lines: keeping a perimeter closed overnight, screening a back-of-house area, or holding a boundary nobody is supposed to cross. The fence cost calculator prices those.

Most events in Chandler use barricades along the public-facing edges and fence panels for the perimeter and the back of house. Send both estimates with one quote request and ask for one number.

The Valley event calendar

Event season here runs roughly October through April, because nobody holds an outdoor festival in July. That concentrates demand: the good weekends fill across the whole metro at once, and the same is true for equipment.

Practical advice: book early for anything between October and April, and expect much easier availability in summer. If your date is fixed and it is a peak weekend, the earlier conversation is genuinely worth having.

Wind, even for barricades

Barricades are lower and heavier than fence and much less affected by wind, which is one reason they are the right tool for a lot of outdoor work here. Add banner or scrim to the fronts, though, and you have created a sail at ground level. Branded barricade covers look excellent and they change how the line behaves in a gust, so they need to be weighted and interlocked accordingly. Raise it in the quote rather than find out on the day.

Send the estimate to the form with your dates, unit count, and a site map if you have one. The event fencing and barricade rental pages cover what a typical rental includes and how setup works.

Estimator

What will barricades cost for my event?

Four questions. Built from the published barricade rate, so this is the range you would hear on the phone before anyone looks at a site map.

Estimated range Typical Chandler pricing, before anyone visits

Steel crowd control barricades run $8 to $15 per barricade per day on the pricing page, with volume discounts over 50 units, and delivery and pickup runs $100 to $500. This calculator assembles those. For a big event we price from your site map, not from a menu choice.

An estimate, not a quote. Event work is quoted from the layout, the load-in window, and the site, and the firm number comes after that.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to rent crowd control barricades?

$8–$15 per barricade per day with volume discounts over 50 units, plus $100–$500 for delivery and pickup depending on quantity and distance. A 50-unit weekend event typically lands in the high hundreds to low thousands depending on layout and load-in requirements.

How many barricades do I need?

Standard steel barricades are roughly eight feet long, so divide the run you need to control by eight and add a few for corners and gaps. For a street closure, count the width of the street plus the sidewalks, and remember you need them at both ends.

Do you set them up or drop them off?

Either. Drop-and-go is cheaper and works when you have volunteers or crew. Placed setup means we lay them out to the site map so they are where they need to be before your people arrive. Say which you want in the quote request, because it changes the crew and the timing.

How far ahead should I book an event?

As early as you can, particularly October through April. Event season in the Valley is concentrated in the cooler months and the same weekends fill up across the whole metro. Summer availability is much easier.
